Boyertown Inn Makeover
You can expect to hear the ROAR of Thunder in Boyertown in August 2008 but the storm will be a storm of goodwill.
The faith based community unity program of “Thunder Outreach” in collaboration with “Building a Better Boyertown’s” (BBB) façade improvement program will jointly be working on impacting the center of Boyertown with a major building improvement project at the Historic Boyertown Inn, located in the heart of Boyertown at the corners of Philadelphia and Reading Avenues (rts 562 and 73).
The two programs will work together along with many local volunteers and companies to clean up and paint the exterior of the Boyertown Inn with a new paint scheme that will enhance the historic downtown area and at the same time improve the conditions of a building that touches many people’s lives.
Thunder Outreach director, Mark Malizzi, who is also the service director of Fred Beans Ford of Boyertown, has spearheaded this project. Their program will link together many aspects of the Boyertown community and region to complete this regional impacted event.
Along with the exterior makeover, Thunder Outreach will work with local ministries to provide personal and faith based counseling programs to help positively touch the lives of the people who reside at the Boyertown Inn.
BBB has joined Thunder Outreach to help with this vast community enhancement opportunity by providing a matching monetary grant from its façade improvement program of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.
One of Building a Better Boyertown’s main goals in their program is to continually develop the downtown Boyertown area. The façade improvement program is available to property owners located in the Main Street Area.
This project will also include help, volunteers, equipment and support from many local churches, ministries and residents in the Boyertown area.
Local companies such as Fred Beans Ford, Hollenbach Home Center, Grand Station Rental and THP properties, to just name a few, will also assist by providing equipment and resources towards this massive task that will literally change the face of Downtown Boyertown and lay a hand on many peoples lives.
